EMILY T. ROWAN is currently enrolled at Marymount University in the Pastoral Counseling program and is on her way toward licensure. She is interested in pursuing career counseling and life coaching, particularly with those in transition or reentering the work force after other pursuits. She is also an accomplished botanical artist. Her work has been exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the American Society of Botanical Artists, and the Horticultural Society of New York, among others places. Previously, she held positions at Habitat for Humanity, General Health, Inc. and Rowan Capital, Inc. She began her career as an elementary school teacher in San Francisco. She has served on numerous boards and is currently on the board of the Farnsworth Art Museum. Rowan has a BS from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA from San Francisco State College, and a Certificate in Botanical Art from the Corcoran College of Art and Design. She learned her passion for wilderness experiences and the protection of natural ecosystems at the knees of her parents, Russell and Aileen Train. She and her husband, James, have two daughters.
